Hi ladies.  I just joined this group and hoping we can start one thread where we can all share ideas (recipes!!) and give each other support?!!

A little about me:

I'm 37.  I gained 35 lbs from April 2008 to November 2008 due to much stress and lots of IF treatments.  Then I started a new job where they eat out daily, that didn't help much with the weight!

I got pregnant in December 2009 and gained 50 lbs in the pregnancy.  I managed to lose about 20 right after the baby (water weight) and am stuck now with the rest.

I tried Weight Watchers as I am a lifer with that program but found it way too easy to stray.  So two weeks ago I started Adkins.  I'm down 8 1/2 lbs and it's giving me motivation to keep going, but oh how I miss my bagels and pasta!!

Anyway, hoping to find others out there with the same goals as myself!!

Hey Jana! I just joined up too!

A little about me. I need to drop... a lot of weight :-). I've always been chubby, but gained weight after high school and it just escalated. I got pregnant last April, and gained about 22 lbs, which I lost right away. So now I'm trying to keep the ball rolling.

We are going to TTA until April 2012, so I want to lose before then for sure!! Not to mention, I'm a MOH in my best friend's wedding!

I'll keep my eye out for recipes! But I love turkey burgers wrapped in lettuce. Add some veggies and mmmm. I've seen other restaurants serve a cheese burger salad, where all toppings are in the bowl! Yummo.

Hi Becca!

A cheeseburger salad, great idea!!  Glad you are here to be a weight loss buddy with me.

What method are you using to drop the weight?

I just joined the group! I am on day 7 of Dr. Pompa's Cellular Healing Diet, plus using the detox products CytoClear, CytoCatch, and ATP R3. I had tried the homeopathic HCG diet, and I lost a lot during the first week but then I started feeling awful and getting bad detox reactions. My body basically went into "starvation" mode because I was so toxic, and toxins are stored in your fat, so to lose weight was poisoning me. As soon as I went off it, I gained most of it back because I was so starved. On Dr. Pompa's diet however I am feeling absolutely great, no cravings, feel satisfied, and to date I've lost 6.8 pounds! I know I can continue this indefinitely! I am also doing burst training (also described on Dr. Pompa's site, www. revelationhealth.com) on my elliptical machine, which only takes about 12 minutes every other day. My starting weight was 201.2 and today I weighed 194.4. My goal weight would be somewhere around 125-130. I have never been that small during my adult life so that will be a challenge! :-) I was about 160 when I got married. After each baby, it got harder and harder to lose the weight even though I exercised all the time. After my last two babies I actually GAINED weight even while exclusively breastfeeding! So frustrating!! It's definitely time to get it off. My first short-term goal is to be able to wear shorts again. It's been two summers where my legs were so fat I just felt like I had to keep them covered up. I am hoping that by Memorial Weekend, when we go to the lake for a big family reunion every year, I will be able to go swimming with my kids!! I hope to reach my goal weight of 130 before the end of the year. I am into healthy, traditional, healing foods. I don't count calories, but keep protein (grass fed meats) around 4-6 oz. per meal and all the "acceptable" veggies I want. Plus organic whole milk yogurt, sweetened with stevia. This is a low carbohydrate diet, but I haven't had a single craving and normally I crave sugar like crazy. I cook everything in plenty of extra virgin coconut oil or organic butter (good fats). The fat helps me feel full, plus it is so essential to good health. I have been so amazed that the weight is just melting off, faster than on the HCG diet. For the past 4 days I have lost at least one pound per day, and this morning I was down 1.8, my biggest loss yet! Plus, I have so much energy! My body is making the switch from being a "sugar burner" to a "fat burner". Yea! I will update as I have more results!

Becca, Charlotte is so beautiful!!  How are things going with the baby?

Milkmaid, hi and welcome!  I think Memorial Day is an excellent goal!!  Sounds like a great plan.  I am a huge fan of stevia.  I have an aversion to sweetners (plus I just think they are bad anyway).

I grew a stevia plant last year... didn't think too much about it until my dogs devoured it!  Nice sweet little treat for them!!

The adkins diet is some what similar in the conversion of burning fat instead of sugars.  (I think- not an expert here)....

I had a minor set back.  Not sure what happened but gained a good chunk of what I lost.  I got my period so maybe that had a little to do with it (water weight)?  I was bummed out totally for a day but am back on track with a positive spirit.

Jana- Thanks girlie! You know Eleanor is next on our list :-). I'm thinking it'll probably be weight watchers for me as I do really well on their points system :-). I know a guy that did what you're doing and he lost like 200 lbs and kept it off! Sorry about your setback but remember it happens and don't let it stop you. Keep on chugging!

Milkmaid- Sounds like you are a woman on a mission!! Good for you, I think you'll be at your goal in no time at all! I also think a goal of memorial day is great.

AFM- Well I haven't officially started but I'm cutting things little by little. When I cut everything all at once I find I want it more. I have three more weeks of being at home before I go back and I'm hoping to lose some weight (maybe 15 lbs by then).

I'll be bridesmaid dress shopping soon and this is the biggest I've ever been. Not to mention I want to lose before the next baby :-).

Anyone else planning their next baby too?

Becca, we are one and done... but I love cheering others on!!  Flowers  Do you have a date in mind for TTC #2?

As far as bridemaids dresses, yuck.  I've been in 12 weddings, no lie... and pretty much hated every dress! ha!!

WW works really well, I found I had to go to the meetings though to keep my motivation.

Hello all, new here trying to lose a minimum of 31.5 KG.

Also TTC #1 which with out losing this weight probably won't be possible :(

So far I have lost 15.4KG my starting weight was 146.8KG so I was in the Obese category 3 (formally known as morbidly obese.

I am 6ft2in so I have always carried my weight reasonably well for someone my size an am currently in a size 20 (Australian) clothing.

My aim is to get back into double kg digits being at the most a size 16-18.

I have lost the 15.4 KG my self with no help from written diets or exersize plans, I have just done my own thing and swapped out the bad for the good when and where ever I can.

I have come to a stand still I have slipped back into some old habits, I have not put any of the weight back on but I need to ramp my exercise up and am finding it hard to find the motivation to do this.

Hello, all!

Quick about me:  I'm in the US, have been married for 3.5 years, am an elementary school music teacher, and have a furbaby black cat.  We are TTA indefinitely and undecided about when/if we might TTC.   At my worst, I was at least 60 pounds (27+ kg, or 4 stone) overweight, at a height of 5'4".  Since September last year, I've gone from 189 lbs (85.7kg) to 152 lbs (69kg).  I still have about 20-25 lbs (9-11 kg) to go.  I've lost 37 pounds according to the bathroom scale, but body fat analysis shows I've actually lost something like 49 pounds of fat and gained about 12 of muscle.  I lost it in stops and starts, losing 8 or 9 pounds within a month or so, and then hitting a plateau for a month or so.

I'm here because I've been stuck for about the last two months.  I know I'm in the middle and not at the beginning of my journey and don't have 50+ left to lose anymore, but I hope I'll still be welcome here.  I think my mental block is because I'm now basically at the smallest I ever remember being since I was a teenager.  I'm still technically overweight and not in the healthy weight range for my height, but I find it really hard to imagine that I can really get down past this point.

I'm looking for a little inspiration and support and perhaps accountability and hopefully some new tricks and ideas!  In return, I can offer everything I've learned along the last 9 months through my weight loss journey.  I like to chat a lot, and I'm off work for the summer, so I hope I can find a few people at least who really want to talk!

You can call me by the screenname or Beth, either is fine.  Hoping to see lots of posting on this board!  Smile
