Why and how much?  I am on Clomid and started not to feel that great.   Stuffy nose, cough.  I'm on CD6 does it matter?  And also do you take it your whole cycle?  Thanks

I started taking Mucinex last month during my waiting to O...took it from CD 8 until O.  It definitely seemed to help with the EWCM, although I started drinking grapefruit juice as well so it may have been one or the other or the combo of both.  The guafesin (sp?) in mucinex or robitussin is supposed to make the mucus in your body thinner I think which is why it's used for allergies and congestion and therefore, why it works to increase or thin out other fluids in your body. Smile  Make sure that's the only active ingredient though otherwise it will have a countereffect of what you want.

Hope that helps a little...

I took mucinex the cycle I got pg.  I was taking it mostly for a cough I had, but figured if it boosted the EWCM, all the better.  I started taking it on CD14 (again, for the cough).  At first it didn't seem to make a difference with my EWCM, but then I did have the *Best EWCM Ever* on CD18, and I believe that was the day the swimmers got through.  I Od on CD19, and got my BFP at 11dpo.

My doctor told me to keep taking the mucinex for the cough even if there was a chance I could be pg.  I basically took it until 20dpo or so.  But I think it's one of those that while you can take it while pg, if you don't need it for actual mucus handling issues (in your nose or chest), you'd probably be better off stopping after ovulation.

Oh, and just take it by the package directions, which can be 1x a day or 2x a day depending if you get the 12hr or the 24hr stuff.

Best of luck!

I've read to start taking it 5 days before you O and then stop taking it once you do.  You are supposed to take the recommended dosage on the box. I tried mucinex last month with no luck but I have friends that swear by robitussin (same ingredient)! Hope it works for you!
