I just wondered how long it takes for baby teeth  (the lower bottom in particular) to fully come in after you see the white tip break the surface of the gums.  I've heard that it varies with babies, but any input on how long it took with your baby would be appreciated.   My little one just cut her first tooth a few days ago and it hasn' t progressed yet and she seems miserable.

For my kids, it was probably only a couple of weeks on those first teeth. It's the later ones (canines, molars) that seem to take forever to come all the way in.

My DD cut her first tooth a couple weeks ago and it is now about halfway up, I think.  The tooth next to it broke through a few days later and is still barely visible.  It seemed like my DS's teeth came up fairly quickly after they broke through, so it has surprised me how long it has seemed to take.  It's also possible that maybe I'm just not remembering just how long it took with him.

My DDs seem to take months.

The "normal" teeth (not the molars) usually take a few weeks for my DD. The molars are what take MONTHS for her and it's just awful for her.

If she's still miserable, then it's possible the tooth either hasn't actually completely cut through yet or she's working on another one that hasn't cut through at all.  It took about 4 weeks for my DDs teeth to be completely through, but once it actually cut through the gum it wasn't painful anymore.  The "growing in" of the tooth didn't hurt her at all.
