Hi Ladies,

My sweet DH wants to buy me an iPod Nano for my birthday. I tend to be ecologically conscious, aiming to "refuse, reduce, or reuse" before I recycle. So, I am thinking of buying a used Nano. Any reason not to? Like are they not durable or will the battery be weaker. I am also technologically impaired.

Thanks in advance!

Jenna

I definitely would!  Apple sells "refurbished" versions of a lot of their products - including the Nano.  DH bought a refurbished laptop from the Apple website - he got it for nearly half-price and he LOVES it.  He gets tons of use out of it - he uses it for work and travels with it ALL THE TIME.  He has never had any problems with it and no battery issues at all.  It was just like new!

As far as using a Nano, I have an older version of the Nano (not the one that now shoots video) and it is super-simple to use.  Technological impairment won't be an issue - LOL!!!

Good luck!

Thanks, Janie, for responding. I researched Apple's site, but DH says he is getting me a new one from Costco. It is only $20 more for a brand new model, and for some reason DH wants me to have a new one. *shrug* Oh well. I am sure I will hold onto this piece of technology like I have all sorts of other ones. Hell, I still have a Sony Walkman tape player! Indifferent Seriously. The yellow sports model.

I got mine in 2005 and use it everyday.  It gets banged around quite a bit (to my DH's horror) and has never had a problem. Its easy to use too.
