Hello all! I'm fairly new to this site.  I've just started charting and am into half way into my 2nd cycle.  The first chart indicated that I had an 11 day luteal phase.  Through research I've learned that taking B6 can increase it.  I've started off with 50mg and noticed on my chart that I ovulated on CD10...if I start on my normal day that would mean an increase to a 18 day luteal phase.  Is this something that I should be concerned about?  I've also just finished a round of Metronidazole for a bout with BV so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with my change or resulted in my ovulating so early.  I'm going to continue to chart and hopefully I will see a stabilization in the following months so I can have that BFP that I want so bad!

Would it be best to go down to 25 mg of B6?  Looking for advice.

Kristin

Here is the deal. The time BEFORE ovulation can vary cycle to cycle that is normal (within reason). The time AFTER ovulation shouldn't vary more than +/- a day, unless you are taking something to help. If you ovulated on CD10 you should expect your AF 10-12 days later (I'm guessing from your one chart showing 11 day LP).

For me, pre-baby my LP was always 15-16 days, oh, and I got pregnant the cycle that I ovulated on CD11. Hope that helps :)

I paper-chart, but I loaded a couple of my interesting charts to share:

Thank you for you reply.  I know that B6 can lengthen the luteal phase but I didn't realize that it would be so drastic.  Just figured a couple of days at most.  Normally I have ovulation pain and this time I didn't.  I guess I'll see how the rest of this cycle plays out.  New to this site too and can't figure out how to attach my charts to the message...posted them in Short luteal phase and Vitamins/Herbs.

Good to know about your success though!  I'm hopeful!

Thank you again

The LP count looks like another glitch in beta. It is so confusing to those new to charting. Your LP is not 18 days. You won't know how long it is until AF shows. Your last LP was 11 and with only that to go on I would count 11 days from your O date and expect AF then (give or take one day so from 10DPO to 12DPO). They seem to be basing all cycles on a 28 day length as default and in reality it should only show blank days based on your history not a flat 28 with a count. The B6 may or may not change your LP again you won't know until AF shows. GL

That makes sense.  The 1st cycle I charted my temps were pretty erratic with no clear defining day of ovulation (at least none that I could see distinctly.)  This cycle has more of a definite rise and O day with less fluctuating temps.  That being said...could the program have miscalculated  my O day last cycle?  In looking at it now I think I could've O'd on CD13, which would only be 2 days difference from this cycle rather than 7 days difference (which seems unlikely.)

Again, I can't figure out how to add my charts here in this post...I know that would be easiest to look at them.  I have them posted in Short Luteal phase (which was my 1st cycle)  and Vit/Herbs (which is the current cycle)

Sorry to bother with all of these questions...but this is all very confusing!

Thanks for the help!  Kristin

The first cycle for some ends up being a trial and error deal until you work out what is best for you as far as temping and recording signs. It looks fine, like a typical first chart and I would have made the same determination based on what info is there. It isn't all that uncommon to have an early O and that is what looks like happened in your second chart. Keep temping and see what happens. O is what can fluctuate, your LP should stay consistent. O does usually have a average day it occurs but it can show up early or be delayed.
