so i've read many posts where women have indicated that they can "feel" ovulation. be it a sharp pain, a throbbing, or what have you, there is some sort of physiological indication.
so that got me thinking...i don't think i really feel anything when i ovulate. (and based on my charts, i'm fairly certain that i do ovulate).
now i'm curious to know who does experience some sort of physiological indication that they have, in fact, popped the egg. and, what do you "feel" when you are actually ovulating??

Hi! Yup, I get O pain every month for 2-3 days. The final day is usually quite painful indeed, and it will go from pretty intense to absolutely nothing at all in a matter of hours.
So, I don't know if that qualifies as feeling the actual ovulation, but my temp rise always confirms O on the day where the pain quickly goes away.
I *sometimes* get cramps during ovulation time, but probably only have had that happen 2 or 3 cycles.

I don't feel it every time -- in fact, it's quite rare -- but when I do feel it, it's a sharp twinging in my abdomen, localized to one side, about where my ovary is. It lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes. When it happens, it's always on the day that I actually ovulate, so I've always assumed it's when the egg is actually being released (although who really knows!). Hope this helps!
I've never noticed a sharp pain where my ovaries are near ovulation. Would be convenient to have another sign indicating when happens, but no such luck here. On the positive side of that, I guess we should count ourselves lucky to have less cramping each cycle!

Me too! This last month I O'ed on the 4th that night had pain in left ovary for about 3 hours and went to sleep in morning was gone. Couple a days before that had mild, dull aching. So I don't know if this is O pain I assuming it is---it's only my first full month charting so still figuring everything out.
yes on and off i get the feeling that I have a bladder infection. For a long time i went to the doctors all the time because I thought it was an infection. After i figured out that the pain came every month, we figured out what it was.

I'm only on cycle #3 of TTC again after a loss and this is my first time actually ovulating semi-normally (taking soy or clomid to ovulate), but each of the 3 cycles, I've had sharp pains that lasted several minutes and were impossible not to notice, right at my ovary, BUT the catch is that it happens 10-15 days before I actually ovulate. I don't know why so soon. But all three times, I have eventually ovulated after having the pains. (And before this, my cycles were 100+ days and anovulatory normally.)

Ok, this month I have felt a very mild/light cramping similar to menstrual cramps. This has lasted for about 2-3 days now. However, I very seldom feel the sharp pain others have described. I have never had the ovulation spotting though.

Take a OPK and see what it gives you.
Yes, I always got a sharp pain and cramping in either the left or right side (depend on which side I was ovulating from at the particular time) and I'd always take a OPK and sure enough, a blaring positive.
I get like a dull ache but it happens for a few days and on both sides. Usually its more prominent on my right side (the side that gives me more cyst problems) but its enough that I don't forget where my ovaries are. For me it started again yesterday and I'm getting a little more this morning. My OPKs are negative though, which is a little odd considering my cervix feels nearly ripe and I'm getting crystal clear EWCM.

yes I do! some months it feels like a "stitch" in my side...sometimes it's just an overall ache (like menstrual cramps), other times it's an ache when my bladder is full. Some months I don't feel anything at all.

I have a general achiness/cramping in my abdomen for several hours, which eventually leads to noticeable cramping and painful twinges on one side or the other. As others have said, it disappears altogether fairly quickly after that.
Yep - every month! Sometimes, including this month I even have to use a heating pad cuz it hurts so much - feels like menstrual cramps to me!
