I finally got my progesterone tested, along with the 3 thyroid levels, and got checked for mono.

My Dr, mailed me the results, and wrote "all labs normal".

My Progesterone was 7.5 around 7-9 days after I probably ovulated. Doesn't that seem low? I don't know much about it, but from what I have seen so far, it seems low.

I believe anything under 10 means ovulation didn't occur, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it is 5.  IIRC, something over 5 means some form of ovulation.  However, they like to see 10 on an unmedicated cycle and greater than 15 on a medicated cycle.  I have been pregnant with a 10 and a 12 (unmedicated) and carried to term without supplementing.  Different doctors have different opinions about supplementing.  GL and hope that helps!

That's the lovely thing about progesterone, it's subjective!  My current doctor is okay with 4 (meaning Ovulation to him) but because I had a short lp and a progesterone level on the lower side (7.6) he went ahead and gave me a precription for progesterone.

My first doctor some three plus years ago tested it and it came back at 7.  She said 9 or 10 was preferable and gave me clomid which bumped it up to the 20's.

On a side note, we went to an RE a year ago and he didn't even bother testing it!

At 7.6 with an 10 to 11 day lp, I personally felt mine was low.  I used Maca Root and NPC on my own to extend my lp.  I never got my progesterone checked though while on these so can not tell you what the exact results were.  They both extended my lp though by a few days.

As long as a CD3 is below 1.5, then if over 2 on 7DPO O is considered to happen by some. Actually between 2 and 4 is a normal rise prior to O and anything over 4 is indicative of O (that low may be LUFS) IMO. PG can not be sustained below 12 (some say 9) and below 12 lining is unfavorable for implantation. Over 75 at 7DPO you run into other issues and PG does not happen at this point either. Between 12 and 65 seem to be ideal (ng/ml). You should ask for the measure that the lab uses as that also changes the scale.

I have had two successful outcomes with progesterone of 12 (DD) and 10 (DS) with no supplementation.  So, it is possible.  Flowers

I would have said anything below a 10 cant support a pg also- I have very low progesterone and have suffered alot do to it. With Ryan we took P4 vaginally 2x a day at 200mg till 16 weeks- When this little bean came along ( with no help or planning by the way-SURPRISE!) when I went in to just see if I was- I was already 5.5 weeks we figured out by my numbers and my p4 was a 7.5!!-  we started progesterone for a couple of weeks ( till 8.5) and here I sit at 21 weeks!  So yes it can happen- It is all Gods will if you ask me :-)

There are always exceptions. That's what miracles are. I also mentioned for some 9 was what was considered too low.  Either way the lower your numbers the greater your odds of m/c if you can do something about it do so and even the odds.

The one cycle I had it checked at 8DPO it was 7.5. My doctor was not concerns so I put myself on NPC because I knew it was low. I am now pg but this was after a laparoscopy to remove endo. I don't know what my progesterone would have been 7dpo this cycle but I wasn't taking any extra suppliments that I normally take to help with my LP or progesterone. My 12DPO progesterone was only 11.5 while pregnant with betas of 202 so I am now on 200 mg of prometrium. I hope they are rising now but as you can see progesterone is an issue with me. My doctor didn't want to recheck my levels but I kind of wish I would have demanded him to. They can very each cycle so more than one 7dpo draw can give you a better picture. I wish I was on progesterone in the start of the pg as now I just keep worry that I started them too late or something.
