What are you having and how is your belly shaped? Round or watermelon, basketball?..

This particular OWT has very much been true for me: with my girls, I carried more in my back and sides (I looked pregnant from pretty much every angle). With my boy, it's like a basketball glued to my front - it's significant how much more forward he is than my girls were. My husband says I don't look pregnant from the back (but sometimes I think he's just saying that to boost my spirits a bit ).

I have no clue, because this kid keeps lying transverse!! I guess you could say in that case it's football shaped!

This, for sure. Two completely different looks.
I've had two boys and have been very watermelon shaped both times. I keep wishing for that basketball taped on front, but nope, not yet!
MY CHART
I'm not sure the distinction between the shapes, but I have two girls and the first I was much flatter, this one I am much rounder:

I carried the exact same way for both. I also had the exact same pregnancy symptoms and gained almost the exact same amount of weight LOL
All of that stuff is old wives tales. :)

Now with you - and not b/c I know what you're having, I swear! - I would call girl in both instances b/c of the fact that you are carrying "low". The shape wouldn't play a part in my "prediction"
BTW, I know that "low" is supposed to mean boy, but when I've predicted based on that, "high" has been boy!
I look pregnant from every angle... I carried very high until about 33 weeks and I'm definitely a watermelon. This is my first pg and this baby is all

That just goes to show you that it is all myths. I wish it weren't , it'd be more predicatable but with DS I was very low from the beginning to the very end of the pregnancy. With this pregnancy, my bellys has started to form from the very beginning up high. It's totally 100% different than from DS. I hope it means I'm having a little girl. My belly is way high this one time around..hmmm...
I was low with my oldest and youngest, both boys. Also, gained weight all in the belly and lost my baby weight right away. Middle was my daughter and I could rest my plate on my belly because it was so high. I gained weight all over and had a horrible time losing the weight after she was born. I also gained a lot more weight with her and she was my smallest baby. She kicked my ribs all the time and I was constantly trying to get her feet out of my ribs. I guess I completely go along with the old wive's tale so far. It will be hard to know with this one because I'm starting out much bigger than I was at the start of my other pregnancies. I won't know if the extra weight is from before or if it's a girl. :)

TR miracle #2 due on 11-3-10, BFP 11dpo, Scheduled c-section 10-29-10. Gender a surprise!!
I've carried exactly the same with all 6 of my pregnancies and based on that, I was POSITIVE this one was another boy (I have 5 boys). We got the surprise of our lives 9 days ago when she came out a girl!
My niece carried her boy really low and her 2nd pregnancy she carried high and round...it was another boy. So, you just never know! I thought I was so smart and knew i was having a 6th boy and we didn't even have girl names picked out because of it! Hahaha! She showed us!
Jodi
I had similar shapes for my two as Calladona, but first was a and second was a . I'd say basketball and watermelon maybe? I'm not sure of the shape distinction either.
With my first pregnancy I was carrying more wide across my belly and it would have been a girl (). With this pregnancy I am carrying more like a basketball/watermelon up front and all of our ultrasounds have revealed that it is indeed a girl. So my body is not exactly going according to the old wives tale either. My father in-laws girlfriend keeps telling us that its a boy because of the way I am carrying and its starting to get on my nerves. I am high risk so I have had plenty of ultrasounds which have all shown that its a girl.
