I am getting ready to start injectibles (Follistim).  I am curious to see what other people’s treatment protocol looks like.

·         How many IUs of FSH (Follistim/Gonal F) are you taking per day?

·         What cycle day do you start it on?

·         How many days do u take it for?

I started 225 of Gonal-F on Day 3 of my cycle. I took it for 4 or 5 days, overlapped with Ganirelix for the rest. In total, I stimmed for 9 days.

ETA: I was wrong!! Thank goodness I kept notes. I did 225 of Gonal-F for 8 days, overlapped with Ganirelix, for a total of 9 days.

I did 225 mg Gonal-F on cycle days 2 &3, then 150 mg days 4-8 for 7 stim doses total.  I did ganirelix as well days 7,8 & 9.  Then I triggered on day 9 and retrieved on day 11.

Dmr- I know you got high E2 and were at risk for OHSS.  Looking at my package insert (yeah, I'm a label reader), the recommended dose for women under 35 is 150 mg Gonal-F.  I bet your high doses were why your E2 got so high.  Of course, you also had a great result so maybe it was the way to go after all!

Very interesting! thanks for the info. I was supposed to do 200 of Follistim, but insurance wouldn't cover it.

it took about 2 cycles to figure out what dosage I needed because I responded very fast to it.  I started off with Gonal-F but was making to many follices.  I was doing injectable for IUIs and doc didnt want more than 3 possible eggs!  Once we got my dosage figured out I was on 50-42 IU of follistim for about 9 days (+/- a few days depending on E2).  I averaged 2-3 follicles with that dosage
I will be starting a new protocol for IVF, not sure what dosage that will be yet!!
