Ok, so my temp is dropping (fine Aunt Flo...make yourself at home) However, our house gets pretty cold in the winter and lately my thermometer tip has been noticeably cold in the morning. I know I am out this month, but do you think that future temps will be effected by the cold thermometer? Or will the temps just sort of even out by running a little lower in the winter?

The thermometer warms up once you put it in your mouth (or other places) - it doesn't register your temp until it has stopped rising and recorded a steady temperature.  So I don't think that will affect your temps.  The cold house might make your temps a little lower, but that should be overall so I don't think it would affect how you read your charts.

Once again, I'm having a similar issue as you.  I've decided this cycle to continue as usual, taking my temp till the first beep and then record it.  However, I notice (do you?) that when I get that first beep, if I start it over right away again and keep it in my mouth it will raise another tenth of a degree or two?  And if I repeat this again, I get the same thing...an increase of a degree or two.  Then finally, I get the same reading the third or fourth time.  I think that my next cycle am going to: first, try another thermometer and compare.  Second, leave it and take my temp again 3-4 times in a row. I figure if it stops increasing, then that's my highest and maybe most accur. temp?  I think it's important to keep things the same through an entire cycle...even if it's about 60 days like mine tend to me....grrrr.

Taking your temperature more than once, even right after one another, will almost always give you a different temperature.  So will comparing the temps on two different temperatures.

I would not leave the tm in once it beeps.  I did an experiment with this with vaginal and oral temping.  Vaginal, tm takes about 5 seconds to record temp.  Orally, same brand tm takes about 1 minute!

Trust the tm!  Smile
